Hey everyone!
On July 20, 2018, at 6:30 p.m., I was boarding the plane to Netherlands. One of the countries that has always been on my bucket list to visit. I was in Rotterdam for a week and it was fantastic not only for the beauty of the city buildings, museums and landscapes but also for the fact that I can say that I was present in the hottest summer of Holland, including one night the temperature registered was the highest that has ever existed since there are meteorological records. Pretty cool, huh? It was around 30 degrees Celsius every day (which is very rare in the Netherlands), which did not make it easy to walk around or sleep at night. But other than that, it was an incredible experience.
The first day consisted of relaxing, being with the family and getting to know a bit of Rotterdam. We went to visit the famous cube houses and a fair in city center. Since it was so hot, I wore my black jumper (Primark), sandals (Primark) and a colored hair band (Stradivarius) so that my hair was out of my face and add a pop of color to the outfit.
We visited the mills of Kinderdijk (about 25 km from Rotterdam), another well-known place of the Netherlands, where we can observe a huge landscape with the mills and listen to its history and importance to the country.
It was not a trip to Holland if we didn't visit Amsterdam. About an hour from Rotterdam, we left in the morning to enjoy a day in the capital. It is undoubtedly a spectacular city, full of life and places to know and visit. We spent about four hours there strolling the streets, and I even stood in front of the Anne Frank's house, something I wanted to visit but will have to wait for the another time.
Both Rotterdam and Amsterdam surprised me greatly and exceeded all my expectations. If I had to describe in 5 words what struck me the most this week might be: architecture, landscapes, nature, flowers and without a shadow of a doubt ... BICYCLES! They were everywhere.
I hope you have enjoyed this post, if you want to know more, comment and I will respond to everything. It's extremely important if you also give me suggestions of posts you would like to see in the future, please! Thank you and have a wonderful day!
